Position: Webmaster

Overview:
US-based marketing and distribution company seeks to expand its presence on the Internet, primarily to generate leads and sales. Third party vendors currently handle most website activities and our goal is to bring this in-house to the extent possible. The webmaster will work with a diverse team of technical and non-technical people in Lima, Peru and Los Angeles, California.

Based in our office in Lima Peru, this position is a great opportunity for an experienced Internet Project Manager or Webmaster. Must be able to create and execute exceptional project work plans for the evolution of our marketing and learning technologies. Depending on experience, this individual will be expected to build and/or refine the following skill sets within the Marketing and Product Development departments.

Responsibilities:
1. Use his/her technical understanding of Internet and client /server architectures and awareness of new and emerging technologies to build a portal supported by a family of world class websites.
2. Creates and executes project work plans and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements
3. Identifies resources needed (in and out of house) and assigns individual responsibilities
4. Manages day-to-day operational aspects of a project
5. Scopes projects and prepares and manages to timelines
6. Effectively applies workflow methods, methodologies, and enforces project standards
7. Prepares for engagement reviews and ensures quality assurance procedures are followed
8. Ensures project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately
9. Ensures version control is utilized and maintained
10. Facilitates team meetings effectively
11. Holds regular status meetings with project team
12. Effectively communicates relevant project information to superiors.
13. Communicates daily with remote superior and colleagues for website development direction and issue resolution
14. Delivers engaging, informative, and well-organized presentations
15. Resolves and/or escalates issues in a timely fashion
16. Understands how to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully both orally and in writing
17. Possesses general understanding of application programming, database and system design
18. Identifies opportunities for improvement and makes constructive suggestions for change
19. Manages the process of innovative change effectively
20. Quickly and effectively fixes bugs, dead links, content errors
21. Work with web designer(s) on appropriate compression techniques, resolutions, sizes, color maps, and depths to ensure that images are delivered to the viewer at sufficiently high speed and quality.
22. Collects, analyzes, and reports data on relevant website usage/traffic and usability statistics using analytics software such as Google Analytics (preferred), Webtrends, etc. and trains site owners to do this.
23. Manages online files/assets and perform website backups
24. Optimizes content and site structure for search engine visibility and ranking
25. Manages the company’s email campaigns
26. Ensures tracking mechanisms are used for all advertising efforts
27. Other duties as assigned

Skills/experience:
Required:
1. 4-year college degree in related field or equivalent experience
2. Three or more years experience as a webmaster/internet project manager for a B2C company or advertising agency.
3. Ability to multi-task and manage complex initiatives simulateously.
4. Proven ability to work with both in-house and third party development teams
5. HTML and DHTML (intermediate)
6. CSS (intermediate)
7. JavaScript (intermediate)
8. Experience with SEO and SEM
9. Experience with online advertising (ad networks, agencies, and in-house)
10. Bilingual Spanish/English
11. E-commerce experience
12. Excel, MS Word, Power Point
13. Experience managing website-related hardware and hardware issues
Desired:
1. Flash and Action Script
2. Content Management Tool experience
3. Email campaign management experience
4. Ability to create web forms (front-end design and backend database)
5. Website design experience
6. Awareness of privacy issues, data security issues and solutions
